Twin 7.4L V8s | Approx. 750 Hours | Bow Thruster | 12" Raymarine Axiom | Radar | Extended Swim Platform | Extensive Upgrades

This 1999 Formula 34 PC is an excellent example of why Formula's Performance Cruiser lineup continues to have such a loyal following. Combining Formula's renowned build quality and deep-V performance with a spacious cockpit, comfortable overnight accommodations, and an impressive list of modern upgrades, this 34 PC offers a tremendous amount of boat for the money.

Powered by twin 7.4L V8 gasoline engines with approximately 750 hours, this Formula has the big-block power you want in a cruiser of this size. More importantly, this boat has been extensively upgraded in many of the areas that matter most to today's buyer.

Updates include Flexiteek-style synthetic teak decking, an extended swim platform, added bow thruster, 12-inch Raymarine Axiom multifunction display with radar, VHF radio, completely updated wood helm panel with new gauges and switches, Rockford Fosgate stereo/head units, and JL Audio speakers.

The result is a classic Formula cruiser that retains the quality and character these boats are known for while benefiting from significant modern improvements.

TWIN 7.4L BIG-BLOCK POWER

This 34 PC is powered by twin 7.4L V8s with approximately 750 hours.

The big-block twin-engine package provides the power needed to comfortably move a substantial express cruiser while giving the captain the control and redundancy of twin engines.

Formula built the 34 PC around an 18-degree modified/deep-V hull, a design that helped establish the model's reputation as a capable cruiser with solid performance and handling.

ADDED BOW THRUSTER

One of the most valuable upgrades aboard this particular 34 PC is the added bow thruster.

That's a major improvement on a 37-foot overall cruiser and makes maneuvering around docks, marinas, and tight quarters considerably easier. Combined with twin-engine control, the bow thruster gives the captain another level of confidence when docking, especially when dealing with wind or current.

COMPLETELY UPDATED HELM

The helm has received substantial attention and gives this Formula a much more updated appearance than a typical 1999 cruiser.

The original dash has been upgraded with a new wood helm panel along with new gauges and switches, cleaning up one of the areas where older boats often show their age.

The electronics have also been brought well forward with a 12-inch Raymarine Axiom multifunction display providing a large, modern screen for navigation and vessel information.

The electronics package includes:

  • 12" Raymarine Axiom MFD
  • Radar
  • VHF radio
  • New wood helm panel
  • New gauges
  • New switches
  • Bow thruster controls

Altogether, the updated helm gives the captain modern navigation capability while retaining the classic Formula character.

UPGRADED ROCKFORD FOSGATE & JL AUDIO SYSTEM

The entertainment system has also received a major upgrade.

The boat is equipped with new Rockford Fosgate stereo/head units paired with JL Audio speakers, giving the cockpit a modern marine audio setup that's perfect for entertaining at the dock, cruising, or spending the afternoon anchored out.

It's another example of money already spent updating this boat rather than leaving the next owner with a long list of projects.

FLEXITEEK-STYLE SYNTHETIC DECKING

The cockpit and exterior areas have been upgraded with Flexiteek-style synthetic teak decking, dramatically updating the appearance of the boat.

The teak-look flooring complements Formula's classic styling while providing the appearance of traditional teak without the maintenance associated with real wood.

Between the decking, updated helm, electronics, and audio system, this 34 PC presents much more like an updated cruiser than a completely original 1999 boat.

EXTENDED SWIM PLATFORM

Another major addition is the extended swim platform.

The additional platform space makes a noticeable difference when swimming, boarding, handling lines, loading gear, or simply relaxing at the water.

It also visually updates the profile of the boat and creates considerably more usable space at the stern.

For anyone who spends time anchored out, swimming, or entertaining at the dock, this is an upgrade you'll appreciate every time you use the boat.

LARGE FORMULA COCKPIT

The 34 PC was designed with entertaining in mind.

Its generous 12-foot beam creates a substantial cockpit with plenty of room for passengers. The model was designed with a large companion seat opposite the helm, cockpit wet bar, aft seating and the ability to convert the aft cockpit area into a large sun pad.

Whether you're entertaining at the dock, cruising with friends, or spending a day anchored around the islands, there's plenty of usable space above deck.

Formula also provided secure side decks for access forward, a bow pulpit, transom shower and foredeck lounging area.

SPACIOUS CABIN

Below deck is where the 34 PC really separates itself from smaller express cruisers.

With approximately 6'5" of cabin headroom and a wide 12-foot beam, the interior provides plenty of space for weekends and extended stays aboard.

The traditional Formula layout includes a forward island berth, salon/dinette area, aft mid-cabin accommodations, galley and enclosed head.

The mid-cabin layout was designed to provide sleeping accommodations for up to six, making this a legitimate family cruiser rather than simply a day boat with a small cabin.

FULL GALLEY

The galley provides the amenities needed for weekends aboard, with countertop space, sink, refrigeration, cooking facilities and storage throughout.

It's integrated into the main cabin rather than completely separated, helping preserve the open feel of the interior and making it easy to entertain while preparing food or drinks.

PRIVATE ENCLOSED HEAD

A proper enclosed head with separate shower arrangement adds another level of comfort for extended cruising.

The 34 PC's head design uses a bi-fold partition to separate the shower from the vanity area, a thoughtful feature that makes the space much more functional when spending several days aboard.

FORMULA BUILD QUALITY

There's a reason older Formulas continue to command attention on the brokerage market.

Formula built the 34 PC as a true Performance Cruiser, combining the accommodations of a family express cruiser with a hull designed to actually perform.

The 34 PC's combination of substantial fiberglass construction, 12-foot beam and 18-degree deadrise provides the solid feel Formula owners have come to expect. The model was successful enough to remain in production throughout the 1990s and into the early 2000s.

This particular boat takes that proven platform and adds a significant list of improvements that address many of the items buyers typically want to upgrade on a cruiser of this vintage.

A SERIOUSLY UPDATED FORMULA 34 PC

What makes this 1999 Formula 34 PC special isn't simply that it's been kept in great condition — it's the amount of meaningful updating that has already been completed.

The bow thruster improves maneuverability. The 12-inch Raymarine Axiom, radar and VHF modernize the navigation package. The new wood dash, gauges and switches transform the helm. The Rockford Fosgate and JL Audio system updates the entertainment. The synthetic teak flooring and extended swim platform improve both the appearance and usability of the cockpit and stern.

Then underneath it all, you still have the things that made the 34 PC desirable in the first place: twin big-block V8 power, Formula construction, a 12-foot beam, spacious cockpit, comfortable cabin, full galley, private head and accommodations for extended weekends aboard.

If you're looking for a Formula 34 PC but don't want a completely original late-'90s boat that needs electronics, a dash, stereo, flooring and docking upgrades, this is the one worth taking a serious look at.
